Rob McWilliam
Rob is the Product Development Manager for Management & People Development here at Thales Training & Consultancy. Prior to his training and consultancy experience he held a number of Senior Management posts within the Retail Industry. Recently he has led a team of Learning & Development Consultants to achieve a 200% increase in sales.
Rob’s successful hands-on management experience coupled with his excellent trainer skills and style ensures he is very well positioned to provide training/coaching and advisory consultancy services for management and people development. He is excellent at relating to various levels of delegate and is friendly, approachable and extremely professional as a trainer, manager and coach.
David Christie
David has held senior management
positions in large blue chip companies and management
training organisations. He has designed and delivered
“National Training Award” winning
courses and worked in the oil, drinks, car and
retail industries. Clients David has run training
for include Shell, Ford, Dixons Stores Group (National
Award Winning design), Fujitsu and British Airways.
He has also worked extensively for the public
sectors, particularly with the DTI, Dept of Health,
the Inland Revenue and the Learning & Skills
Council.
David specialises in designing
training using the medium of simulation and is
currently delivering project management courses
and graduate development in this way.
Natasha Shaw
After working as a senior
IT trainer at Thales for three years, Natasha
made a natural progression into Personal Development
training, which utilises her previous experience
in customer services, sales and personal development.
Understanding people’s needs within IT and
personal development has enabled Natasha to deliver
‘blended training’, where for example
she combines Presentation Skills with PowerPoint,
or Time Management with Outlook.
Her enthusiasm for training
propels her to explore new approaches which keep
learning memorable and fun. Natasha is also an
NLP Practitioner and blends these techniques into
her courses to create practical and effective
models for success.
Sarah Wall
Sarah's extensive experience in store management with Debenhams gives her a strong grounding in management skills and customer service. Sarah later moved into a training role for Safeway, where she designed and ran team building events and customer service courses as part of a major change programme for the company.
Before joining Thales, Sarah was responsible for setting up and running the training facility for an independent department store group. As an example, this involved writing competency materials, designing and running assessment centres, developing and delivering a portfolio of management skills workshops and designing the company's management training programme.
Sarah is an adaptable and creative trainer who is passionate about people development and delivering high standards of customer service. She puts great emphasis on ensuring that training is interactive and fun.
Fiona Doran-Smith
Fiona joined Thales Training & Consultancy in 2006 as a Learning & Development Consultant. Prior to joining she worked as a Training Manager for Johnson Controls (a facilities management company) and for a number of years ran her own business as a freelance trainer. Prior to this she worked for the BBC as a Duty Manager.
Fiona’s people management experience, business development and customer service background position her well within TT&C to deliver a number of first-line management and general interpersonal, relationship-building programmes.
Fiona is an adaptable, energetic trainer with an enthusiastic style. She is passionate about people development and this shows in her interactive, focused and productive sessions.
Nicola O'Donnell
Nicola joined Thales Training & Consultancy in 2007 and her experience at Thales includes design of learning solutions for Total Gas and Power, design and development of training interactions on Ethics and Corporate Responsibility for Thales globally and delivering Management programmes on our public programme.
Before joining Thales Training & Consultancy, Nicola worked with Southern Railway as a Leadership and Behavioural Trainer where she worked with senior management to frontline team members to facilitate a change in culture. She also designed and delivered team building events across all disciplines within the business and worked on development and delivery of Management programmes. Prior to working with Southern Nicola held a number of Management positions within the hospitality industry. After graduating from University she worked for 13 years with Whitbread holding several positions from General Manager of Restaurants / Budget Accommodation to Learning and Development Manager for the brand focusing on developing Management Programmes and materials to ensure everyone had the opportunity to develop their potential. Nicola has also operated her own catering business and worked for Hilton Hotels as a Learning and Development Manager
Nicola is a creative trainer with a facilitative style, engaging her delegates within the learning environment to ensure the learning is fun, interactive and easily applied back in the workplace.
IT Applications Trainers
Susan Howard
Susan is the IT Product Solutions Manager at Thales Training & Consultancy, which means that she manages the Technology training business with responsibility for product design, development and evaluation activities.
Susan comes from a technical background progressing from programmer to systems analyst to technical support engineer. From here she progressed into the IT training field, where she has over twelve years experience.
Susan has project-managed a large number of IT training contracts, which has involved identifying customer requirements, designing training packages and running a programme of courses. She fully understands the need to be flexible when training a group of delegates and feels it is an important part of the training session.
Jane Hames
Jane is an IT Training Consultant
who has extensive experience in using and training
in Microsoft applications with specialist skills
in Microsoft Project and Excel. She has excellent
training skills adapting her style to meet the
needs of individuals.
Jane has worked extensively
with a range of organisations to develop training
programmes for bespoke systems. She has good analytical
skills enabling her to extract the necessary information
to meet the exact requirements of the customer.
Paul Terry
Paul has worked in the training
field for over eight years now. He comes from
a retail background and that experience has shown
him the user side of training. This enables him
to easily assimilate to users needs and requirements
and include them within the training session.
Paul is a first class trainer,
adapting training to suit his delegates. His enthusiastic
approach helps delegates of all levels to get
the most out of the training session. He is also
responsible for the design, maintenance and development
of the company bookings database.
Carla Scott
Carla joined Thales Training & Consultancy in 2007 as an experienced trainer with over five years experience supporting, training and delivering bespoke software solutions. She specialises in bespoke systems training projects and has designed and delivered training across a range of tools; authored and maintained user guides, manuals, training materials and exercises and provided on-site consultancy and support.
Carla is a natural communicator who is able to work at all levels in a professional manner whilst remaining positive and approachable. She is flexible and adaptable in her training style being able to manage course participants with different skill levels.
