Suitable for: A good knowledge of basic Unix administration is required. Attendance on the Unix Administration Part 1 course would give delegates all the required knowledge. The course will use Sun Solaris but could be applied to the majority of commercial Unix flavours. Objectives: By the end of the course delegates will be able to:· - Configure advanced attributes of user accounts to simplify and manage administration tasks.·
- Configure disk arrays to for redundancy or performance.·
- Share files and access them across a network.·
- Configure network addresses and host names.·
- Configure and use the graphical administration tools.·
- Manage system panics and core dump files.·
- Configure a Jumpstart Server to remotely install hosts.·
- Configure a Jumpstart Server to install flash archives.·
- Monitor and manage memory use and swap space.
