Suitable For:

This course is designed for experienced trainers or managers who deliver training on a regular basis.  It is suitable for participants who have existing training design and delivery skills and wish to increase their effectiveness in becoming even more learner focused. The course is most suitable for trainers that deliver to groups.

This course provides a safe environment for practice and feedback and the number of participants is deliberately kept to a minimum for this purpose.

Participants are advised to bring their own training materials, handouts and slides on the day, as participants will be required to do some work on their own existing course materials.

How people learn and remember what they have been taught

Introduction to “The THALES Trainer learner focused measurement tool” and good practice guide. (Includes an exercise using the tool)

Introduction to learner focused training design and delivery. What options are there?

How to design a case study, simulation, worksheet and icebreaker. What is discovery learning and skill based training? How can technology play it’s part in training design?

Measuring the effect of training. The Kirkpatrick model. Action planning for participants to measure the effect of the training back at work

Lessening pre-delivery nerves by use of envisioning technique and thorough preparation

Handling difficult situations in the training environment
