Suitable for: Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to troubleshoot problems while running Windows XP Professional in an Active Directory Environment or Windows XP Home edition in a workgroup environment. Although no pre-course knowledge is assumed some familiarity with personal computers and operating systems would be useful. This course will assist the delegate in preparing for the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) examination 70-271. Objectives: By the end of the course delegates will be able to:· - Explain the concepts and terminology of the Windows XP Operating System.·
- Install and troubleshoot the installation of Windows XP.·
- Explain the issues related to upgrading to Windows XP.·
- Monitor and manage access to files and folders.·
- Configure and troubleshoot power management.·
- Configure and troubleshoot remote connections and the internet connection firewall.·
- Troubleshoot user logon issues.·
- Configure local security policies
