Suitable For This course is suitable for software and hardware engineers, project managers, quality engineers and others concerned with the achievement of quality. A general knowledge of hardware or software engineering is required. This course presents a rigorous approach to document reviews, based on techniques advocated by Michael Fagan. These techniques offer the prospect of substantial and very importantly, measurable improvements in quality. Furthermore, the inspection process itself is measurable and therefore more effectively managed than purely qualitative methods of review. A powerful feature of the technique is that it has wide application, including hardware and software engineering, project planning and proposal writing. Objectives By the end of the course delegates will be able to:· - Explain the inspection process, the basic inspection rules and stages.·
- Describe the activities and roles of the participants of an inspection.·
- Apply the inspection process.·
- Identify when the application of the inspection process is most valuable.·
- Establish and use metrics for "product" quality and for the inspection process itself.
