This workshop has been designed to raise awareness of individuals within organisations regarding Equal Opportunities. It focuses on normal day-to-day working interactions with others and within the normal working environment.

  • About equal opportunities and what it means in the workplace
  • The legislation that affects equal opportunities and the impact on the organisation
  • Cultural differences within organisations
  • Discussion regarding the current situation in your organisation

 Attitudes, Behaviours and Actions

  • The differences between attitudes and behaviours
  • Analysing our own behaviour and the behaviour of others
  • Recognising and accepting that one person may behave quite differently from another
  • How behaviour can be interpreted in different situations
  • Considering the words used and how behaviour needs to match the words
  • How to avoid difficulties with behaviour

 An Individual’s Rights Within the Workplace

  • Reporting incidents; how and why individuals may go about it in different ways
  • The managers responsibility and how they should respond to any grievances
  • Support, guidance and help that should be provided by the organisation for all parties

Action Planning

  • Devising an action plan for identifying issues on their return to the workplace
