Developing a Successful Business Strategy Course

Is Developing a Successful Business Strategy course right for me?

This three-part business strategy training is designed to support those responsible for providing strategic leadership to their organisation or part of an organisation. The programme will support you in creating a compelling vision, developing a strategy to achieve that vision and identify how best to implement the strategy.

The business strategy training programme typically runs over a 5-7 week period, with pre-work, assignments in between sessions and a range of supporting materials. Delegates typically appreciate the opportunity to share the experience with, get feedback and pick up ideas from a group of peers, often from a range of different types of organisations. The programme is delivered as group coaching, using real business issues and developing real business plans throughout.

Day 1 - Exploring the leadership role

What will I get out of it?

  • Produce and present a statement describing the purpose and vision of your organisation/business unit
  • Review the current organisational culture and identify the role of values in your organisation
  • Define the differences between strategic and operational leadership
  • Develop an action plan for preparing to produce a viable business plan

Day 2 - Business planning

  • Define the purpose and objectives of their business plan
  • Identify the vital elements of their plan
  • Recognise external drivers that impact your organisation
  • Consider the financial elements of the plan
  • Create the framework and outline content of their business plan

Day 3 - Turning strategy into action

What will I get out of it?

  • Modify and re-structure their plan as an operating document
  • Communicate the key messages from the plan
  • Monitor and review achievement of their plan
  • Develop business planning skills within their organisation
  • Produce an implementation plan for successful execution and achievement of business planning objectives
