Is it right for me?

Current PRINCE2™ Registered Practitioners, substantially involved in project activity at supervisory and management levels, including work package managers, team leaders, project managers, programme managers, project executives and sponsors. Project support office and assurance staff may also benefit from the course. It is recommended that delegates should have at least two years experience working in project environments.

Pre-requisite

Candidates must provide proof that their PRINCE2™ is current.

What will I get out of it?

By the end of the APMP Certification for PRINCE2™ Practitioners course delegates will be able to perform the learning outcomes defined in the APMP Syllabus, 3rd Edition for topics covered by the PRINCE2™ qualification route, and take the APMP two hour exam. Specifically delegates will be able to explain:

  • Features relevant to a project context including business as usual, programmes, portfolios, external factors, organisational structures, roles and governance of project management
  • Aspects of project life cycles and methods supporting project initiation including stakeholder management, requirements management and context evaluation
  • Methods and techniques that complement PRINCE2™ implementation processes including success criteria, scope management, estimating, information and communication management and reporting, schedule planning and control, resource management, earned value management, procurement, healthy and safety
  • Team working, leadership, conflict management and negotiation approaches that are important in the performance of projects

What does it cover?

The APMP Certification for PRINCE2™ Practitioners course has three parts: preparatory work; face to face sessions; examination. These are supported by comprehensive on-line facilities and course materials.

The exam is a two hour closed book written paper. Candidates must answer six from ten questions covering 25 topics.
