What will I get out of it?

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Perform the learning outcomes defined in the APMP Syllabus, 3rd Edition
  • Undertake the APMP examination - 1/2 day exam, dates listed above

Specifically, they will be able to:

  • Explain key factors in the project context that need to be taken into account
  • Initiate a project and complete a business case
  • Define a project strategy and produce a project management plan
  • Control a project throughout implementation
  • Complete the handover of project deliverables
  • Conduct project close out processes

What does it cover?

The APMP qualification is awarded by the UK's Association for Project Management to candidates who demonstrate a professional level of understanding in project management methods through rigorous examination. Assessment involves one three hour written essay-based paper. It is a well established baseline qualification which addresses key aspects of effective project management and is widely recognised throughout business and industry. Achieving the qualification provides external credibility for organisations and project management staff. It also provides an entry route into APM membership, and access to the latest project management best practices and continuous developments.

Candidates with this qualification will be able to demonstrate an understanding of how project management elements interact. They will also be able to understand how their project fits into their strategic and commercial environment.

Course objectives

The course is designed to achieve three complementary objectives:

  • Improve project management practice in the workplace
