Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument

Conflict is often seen as negative, yet it can lead to great change and improvement if harnessed correctly.

Learning about other styles of dealing with conflict will help to increase your effectiveness and ability to work well with others.

The Thomas Kilmann diagnostic gives each person a report on 5 different conflict styles or modes. Each mode is appropriate in different situations; each is effective at different times.

The tool helps you to discover which of these five approaches is your preferred method of dealing with conflict and the potential advantages and disadvantages of taking that approach. This can open up discussion on, and development of, new approaches and conflict resolution skills. Frequently our emotions and desires can make communication difficult; using the Thomas Kilmann Instrument can help you to learn what others are doing in these situations and to learn to understanding your own behaviour.
